- Twins – The 1-1 pick is about choosing the player with the most upside who can provide the biggest impact to the organization. I want great athletes in the middle of the field and power arms that pitch at the front of the rotation. Does Brendan McKay fit that profile? No, he is a complimentary piece to a team, vanilla pick here. Does Kyle Wright fit that profile? Perhaps, but he also blends right in with the type of arms Minnesota has now. Minnesota needs to acquire superstars and that isn’t happening via Free-Agency, they must acquire and develop via the draft or internationally.
Hunter Greene –
The contemporary prospect touted as a future superstar will bear the fruits of his ball movement. Salty veterans and big league prospects will tee off on slurvy curveballs and straight fastball’s. Does Minnesota trust it’s player development system?
Royce Lewis –
Game changer, will beat you in many different ways. Any hitting flaw is correctable with some small mechanical adjustments. Championship type make-up and instincts to play at premium position. Will chase down flyballs gap to gap like an NFL cornerback but I’m not in any rush to move him off short. Will fast track towards playing MLB….Speed, power, athleticism combo don’t grow on tree’s. …. 1-1
2) Reds – Hunter Greene or college player here. Royce Lewis not in picture
3) Padres – Rumors of Padres wanting Hunter Greene to fall here are a smokescreen. Padres NEED a game changer here, it’s Royce Lewis.
